Our Team
Martin A. Garcia M.D.
Board Certified – American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology
Dr. Garcia received both his undergraduate degree and medical degree from Vanderbilt University, where he played football and baseball in the SEC. He completed his residency in OB/GYN at the University of Alabama (Birmingham, AL). He has been in private practice since 1983. During his 36 years he has served on numerous medical advisory boards seeking his insight and expertise. As well, he is often called upon to preside over medical staff at various area hospitals.
With a strong belief that patients should receive total care, Dr. Garcia’s patient-centric approach has earned him the trust and dedication of many life-long clients. Among his special interests and skills are gynecological endocrinology and infertility, and the recognition of one of the best high-risk OB/GYNs in all of the greater Jacksonville area. Despite having delivered over 12,000 newborns, Dr. Garcia remains committed to staying on top of advancements in surgical procedures (particularly vaginal rejuvenation), and is certified to perform robotic surgeries.
In an effort to provide total care to his patients, Dr. Garcia co-founded FamWell MD. Dr. Garcia and his wife, Dianne, have four children who are now all adults and six grandchildren. Outside of work, the family enjoys anything outdoors with an emphasis on physical activity and fitness. He is a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
Tiffany Wells, M.D.
Board Certified – American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology
Tiffany Wells is a Jacksonville native where she attended Stanton College Preparatory High School. She graduate from the University of Florida, in 2006, with a degree in psychology. She received her Medical Doctorate from Florida State University College of Medicine in 2010.
Dr. Wells completed her residency training in Orlando at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies.
She desired to practice at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville, due to its focus on high risk pregnancy, and joined our private practice in 2014. She has enjoyed being back in Jacksonville with family and friends and is looking forward to continuing to give the best care to her patients for years to come.
Erika D. Glas, D.O.
Board Certified – American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology
Although born in New York, Erika Frykberg Glas grew up in Jacksonville, attending Bolles High School. She graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis on Pre-Medicine, where she was a Swimming All-American Athlete.
Dr. Glas received her medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine (Peoria, IL) in 2009. After residency, Dr. Glas practiced in Tennessee, before returning to Jacksonville and joining North Florida OB GYN in 2012.
Her father, Dr. Eric Frykberg, was Chief of Surgery at Shands during his 38 years in the medical field, and her brother is a physician at Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute. Erika is married to Mat Glas, and they have 3 children, Gavin, Delaney, and Cooper.
Kendra K.H. Gillespie, M.D.
Board Eligible – American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology
Dr. Gillespie is originally from Orlando, FL. She graduated, Summa Cum Laude, from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI with a B.S. in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Mathematics and then traveled out west, where she received her Medical Degree from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, CA.
In June 2018, she completed an OB/GYN Residency Program at Jackson Health System/University of Miami, where she served as Administrative Chief Resident. While at the University of Miami, she was active in mentorship and teaching programs and several volunteer programs for at risk women.
Dr. Gillespie’s interests include playing the piano, doing CrossFit, and, most of all, spending time with her family and close friends. She is married to Dr. Nigel Gillespie, an anesthesiologist in fellowship at Mayo Clinic, and they look forward to establishing their home in the Jacksonville community where she anticipates being visited often by her parents and two younger sisters!
Jan Ely, APRN
Jan was born and raised in North Carolina. She graduated from the University of North Carolina with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1975, continuing on to earn her Masters of Science in Nursing, majoring in primary care as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. Jan has comprehensive experience in pediatric, adolescent, and adult care, specializing in women’s health.
Skilled in academics, Jan has been an Instructor and Assistant Professor in several nursing and nurse practitioner programs, including the University of Florida. Jan is FNP certified and a member of the American Nurses Association.
Jan has been an integral part of Dr. Garcia’s practice since 1994, providing superior patient care and co-authoring the FamWell.MD Medical Weight Loss Program. Jan’s proudest accomplishment is her daughter, Ashley, who received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville University (2012), and is working at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. In 2015, Jan was married to longtime friend, Steve Winsor.
Claudette Mallory, APRN
Claudette is from Macclenny, Florida. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of North Florida, in 1997. Claudette worked closely with Dr. Garcia while a Labor & Delivery Nurse at Baptist Medical Center, before receiving her Masters of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from the University of Florida in 2000. Claudette performed her ARNP externship with our office under Dr. Garcia and Jan Ely, APRN.
She is a warm and caring person and Dr. Garcia would have considered her an asset to his practice at that time, however, Claudette wanted to work closer to home and her young children. She worked in Macclenny, for 13 years in Family Practice, specializing in Women’s Health. Finally, in 2013, Claudette joined our practice where she is loved for her “Southern Charm.”
Claudette is married to Marcus Mallory and they have 3 children, Kessler, Blakely, and Walker, which were all delivered by Dr. Garcia. In her free time, Claudette enjoys hunting, watching college football, water sports & reading.
Sheri F. Ray, APRN
Sheri is from Rockledge, FL. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1994.
Sheri received her certification as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA, in 1997. Sheri is NCC certified and a member of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health.
Sheri joined Dr. Garcia and NFOBGYN in 2009. Sheri has over 20 years of experience in women’s healthcare, specializing in female infertility, prenatal and postpartum care, and hormone replacement therapy. Sheri is a gentle, compassionate provider who connects deeply with her patients. Sheri enjoys exercising, baseball, fishing, and spending quality time with her son, Cory, and husband, Rich.
Molly Turner, APRN
Molly is a Jacksonville native, graduating from Mandarin High School before earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing cum laude from Florida State University in 2008.
After receiving her Masters of Science in Nursing, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from Vanderbilt University in 2013, Molly returned to Jacksonville. Molly is an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse and is NCC board certified.
She is married to Brad Turner, with 2 small children, Evelyn and Jack. (Jack was delivered by Dr. Garcia in 2014). Molly is a caring practitioner, and is a wonderful addition to our team of talented ARNPs.
Michelle Buoye, APRN
Michelle graduated with Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Clemson University in 1992 and her Masters Family Practice Nursing from the University of South Carolina in 2003. Michelle grew up in South Florida and served 5 years active duty in the Air Force. Michelle worked in Women’s Healthcare for 15 years before completing cross-training into Aesthetics and Cosmetics working in both Plastics and Dermatology. Michelle joined our practice in 2018, and highly involved in Famwell MD.
Together with her husband, Rich, Michelle is the mother of 4 including a teacher, 2 college students and an Army Infantryman. She enjoys cycling and kayaking and is an avid Clemson Tiger football fan.
Michelle Strickland, RN
Michelle Strickland, RN is a Jacksonville native. She graduated from nursing school in 1992, and began working at Baptist Medical Center as an ER nurse. In 1996, she transferred to Labor and Delivery where she worked with Dr. Garcia.
In 2002, Dr. Garcia asked her to work in his office performing laser hair removal treatments. This was the first step in growing into a multi-service medical aesthetic spa.
Michelle specializes in injectables and laser treatments and developing treatment plans with patients concerned with fine lines and wrinkles, veins, sagging skin, sun damage or unwanted hair.
Michelle is married to Danny Strickland, with two beautiful daughters, Macey and Kendall. Macey is currently living in Guam, as her husband serves in the military.
